Pet Photography Book Release

Yeah! My book, Pet Photography: The Secrets to Creating Authentic Pet Portraits is now available in EBook and in hardcover on December 30!

When I was asked to write this book based on my years of experience as a pet photographer and photo educator I was excited, nervous and of course, honored. I poured myself into this project–it feels like my thesis on pet photography.

My intention was that the “how to” part of the book would address technical and aesthetic issues related specially to photographing pets. In addition, I wanted the chapters to go beyond f-stops and shutter speeds to provide an honest view of how I approach my portrait sessions, giving the reader a sense of what goes through my head in these situations.

This book enabled me to utilize my experience as a photo educator (both online and in person) to address specific issues that many emerging pet photographers encounter. I hope the words and images will be of support to anyone looking to improve their pet photography.

Buy it NOW at RockyNook, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

More from the book in upcoming posts!

With gratitude,

Steven - Congratulations on your new book! As an aspiring pet photographer myself (mostly my own pet, @pinkypolydactyl on Instagram, for now) I look forward to picking up a copy. It’ll be a nice companion to your class on CreativeLive a few months back, which I really got a lot out of.
